In czechia if it looks like this and it isn't ultra-bitter it's all good. The bitter ones are not edible (and called Satan). Not sure if this applies to your area tho.
It is clearly spiraling out of control. The EU just won't stop at being more and more authoritarian. Maybe they will be stopped this time like with the Chat Control, but then, one day, probably around holiday or when some disaster strikes, they will sneak it in.
