"i've never seen code like this πŸ’€"

me after stepping away from my code for 2 hours

This has been a wacky Wednesday for me. A lot of things went wrong, but it all turned out ok.

That's all.

The rest is detail. Are you really so bored? Do you really care for all the detail? I already made my point, move on to the next more interesting post.

Oh, you're still here. Ok.

Starting by waking up dead-awake at 4am after a 36 hour fast, and not being able to go back to sleep I made steel-cut oatmeal far earlier than my normal breakfast, which overflowed the pot. I got it all back in and ate it with honey and figs. It didn't sit well, probably because it was outside of my normal feeding time.

Then I spent about 2-3 hours on nostr things. Felt better after that.

At 9 am I took the dog into the vet to have her ears cleaned, as planned. $2700. I told them I didn't have that much money (I expected maybe $800) and they changed the procedure to another one that still cleaned out her ears, but less completely.

Then while the dog was being worked on I couldn't get in touch with my friend for lunch plans (I have the worst mobile phone provider), so I drove to his work and we planned for 12:30. Then I bought new water filters for my house and came home.

At 10:30 am I felt I could have a thin soup without ruining my lunch. Unfortunately I fumbled it and dropped it hot out of the microwave onto my clothes, and the bowl shattering onto the floor with soup everywhere. That took a good 20 minutes to clean up with buckets and rags and towels. I didn't eat any soup.

So then driving back into town for lunch, I missed my turn to the shop where I was going to buy a new bowl because traffic was too much for me to change lanes. So instead I just went to my friend's work. I was ravenous now, my breakfast being light after a long fast, and it being now 7 1/2 hours since that light breakfast. But my friend already ate lunch (there was a misunderstanding). So we just talked a bit, and then I came back to get the dog and go home (and some food!).

Dog was awake (no anasthesia, just sedation) but seemed a bit off. I figured it was just the sedative. When we got home, I went to pet the dog and she squealed loudly. I thought maybe a leg cramp or a broken claw but no. Happened a second time but I still didn't notice what I had done... or what she had done to set it off.

She couldn't tip her head, kept it held low, was breathing rapidly, nervously, legs shaking, and proceeded to pace around the house trying to lie down over and over unsuccessfully. It was miserable to watch. I called the vet but no answer. Left message asking if they left something sharp in her ear, describing her symptoms. Over time though, the dog settled down, was able to sleep a bit with head flat, and later to the side, and now (6 hours later) she seems almost back to normal. Maybe the seditive wore off oddly. Maybe she slept funny while sedated and screwed up her muscles/ligaments temporarily (hell, I do that when I'm fully awake due to poor posture).

Then I went to check on the sheep and one of them was separate from the others. So I went up to it and it was fly struck (flies laid eggs on it's backside which had turned into maggots that were eating her flesh, I knew this was happening but you can't see it because it is all happening beneath the wool). Weak and not moving very quickly when approached, with flys flying about her backside areas. I went back and mixed up a bottle of Maggo and came out and went up to her, having to chase her a bit to spray Maggo all over her backside. After she started to be soaked, she felt defeated and collapsed, giving up the fight and I got right up to her and fully applied the whole bottle. I could see the maggots rise up onto her wool like businessmen in a burning skyrise jumping out of the windows for their dear lives. Several hours later I went back and she was not there, but I found her running around with other sheep, so she must have had a rest, a feed, regained her energy and I think she is going to make it.

The sheep is going to make it. The dog is going to make it. I am going to make it. I didn't get to do the grocery shopping, I have 0 bowls left, and only had a few hours to spend on nostr things. But tomorrow is another day.

Keep moving forward. Needed this, thank you.

Gotta watch out for those nut grabbers...

Im dying here πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Sunny spring mornings hit differently β˜€οΈ

How are you forking a note from Karnage and using it as a comment? πŸ‘€

Ok can you guys never stop editing

... and forking and merging.

Yeah! We're going out to sea and nothing is going to stop us! Those scary storm clouds mean nothing, it'l just be a light drizzle 😬

Good morning πŸ«‚πŸ€—

Yo we're going boating?! LFGOOO! psyched!

Taking my keys with me because i know there's absolutely nothing that could go wrong. Perfectly sound outing. πŸŒŠβ›΅πŸŒŠ

Good advice. You're the algorithm. Boost what you think is worth posting again
