Men seem to confuse raw intelligence with an even temperament and hard facial features, perhaps because they associate intelligence with masculinity.

This study is well-done and found no significant correlation, but that is also good news for men looking for beauty AND brains in a bride. You don't have to limit yourself to one of the two traits.
