Did you know that plastic can be broken down into fuel, it takes about 8 pounds of #plastic waste to produce a gallon of #gasoline.
If you didn't know already, the plastic recycling industry is severely under-performing. Only 9 percent of plastic waste ever produced has been recycled. Leaving 91 percent of all plastic ever produced still out there polluting the world.
Plastic can definitely be #recycled back into the gasoline, however the whole reason why they do not do this is because oil is a renewable resource and dirt cheap to produce, and the other reason is because if they recycled all the plastic into #gas, it would mean gas prices would have to come down drastically, which greedy corporations do not want.

Situational Awareness - Government Oversight: The County of Los Angeles Fire Department (CLAFD) announced a requirement (for what appears to be 175 stations) to fly the Progress Pride Flag (gay pride flag) along side or below the U.S. flag. It further dictates that in events where a second pole typically displays the State Flag but doesn't contain a separate clasp to display the pride flag below it; then the State flag should be removed and replaced with the pride flag. The order will take effect during the entirety of June. This is according to an internal email obtained.
Assessment: In March, CLAFD announced their intent (without giving details such as the rule to remove the state flag in many casss) to raise the "Progress Pride Flag at Los Angeles County facilities" as a means to signal the County’s "commitment to inclusion, fostering safe spaces, and embracing love in all our communities". CLAFD justified the raising as a means to counter "anti-LGBTQ+ and anti-trans bills being passed at an alarming rate across the country" and further described the meaning of the flag's chevron saying that "Black and brown represent LGBTQ+ people of color, while the light blue, pink, and white colors represent the trans community."

Up-front: Drought conditions could lead to a disruption of baking wheats; Kansas, the 5th largest global exporter of such wheats, is seeing farmers chemically kill their crops.
Hard "red spring" and hard "red winter" baking wheats in the U.S. have been impacted by an "extreme drought". The USDA's recent (as of April 2023) national seeding scorecard reported that 75% of wheat crops in the Central and Southern Plains region were under drought conditions. Montana, Kansas, Texas, Colorado, South Dakota, and Nebraska were scored under the most "severe" drought level. In Kansas, 19% of baking wheat crops are being destroyed voluntarily by farmers by chemical or grazing reassignment (farmers discard the yield losses and turn to insurance to make up for losses). Of the 37+ million acres of wheat crops, only 25+ million are able to yield positive harvests. Some agricultural analyst have projected "wide-scale supply chain shortages and price gouging".
Assessment: While many prices in grocery stores are leveling out, wheat may be the next shelved food to see a disruption and price increase. Major harvesting of baking wheats are estimated to begin in early July; if drought conditions improve and crops can be salvaged (at least those that are not already destroyed); there remains a possibility that the impact will be minimal.

Up-front: #NYC to track, monitor, and limit consumption of meat and dairy; reduce food emissions by 25% by 2030.
New York City Department of Environmental Protection (NYC DEP) released the first ever "integrated" Greenhouse Gas Inventory (GGI) to track the city's carbon footprint along with food-contributing emissions. The GGI has been an annual operation since at least 2007 but has not previously tracked food related effects on the climate. The Mayor of NYC claimed that the "vast majority" of food that contributes to "emissions" are meat and dairy products and that a "plant-powered diet is better for your physical and mental health". The DEP also launched the "Eat A Whole Lot More Plants" campaign.
The Mayor's Office of Climate and Environmental Justice (MOCEJ) along with the DEP is accused (by oversight groups) of attempting to track the sales and consumption of meat and dairy products. The Mayor said the MOCEJ is "committing to reducing the city’s food-based emissions at agencies by 33 percent by 2030 and challenging our private sector partners to join us by cutting their food emissions by 25 percent in the same time period. The way we eat impacts everything, and now we’re going to do more to impact everything for the better.”
The MOCEJ has already initiated a menu change for city schools and hospitals and is on track to have served 850,000 plant based meals by the end of year. The Plant-Powered Carbon Challenge further influences private, institutional, and nonprofit sector leaders to reduce their food-based emissions by 25% by 2030.
Assessment: NYC, along with other Democrat controlled regions, have begun campaigns to pressure businesses to reduce their sales of meat and dairy. Through regulation, incentives, and awarded contracts; the government is influencing the supply chain to disrupt the availability of non-plant-based foods and have already impacted citizens' access to meats, cheeses, and milk. This increases costs and limits locations where such foods can be purchased. In many cases it forces children and parents to conform to vegan and vegetarian diets as lack of choices of meats and dairy food become available.
