Big shoutout to nostr:npub1gal0y3vuj3c5sme6444ncsr8xcfm9axehfcsuqfamz5v926m6f2s4yz3t2 for an absolutely amazing service!
A week ago I noticed that Blink API was missing a piece which made it impossible for me to refactor npub.cash’ alias service. I reached out to them, explained the issue and the usecase.
After only a couple of days they came up with something that does not only help me, but will enable many different usecases for all API consumers too. A perfect example of feedback driven development. Chapeau! 🙌🏻
nostr:npub12rv5lskctqxxs2c8rf2zlzc7xx3qpvzs3w4etgemauy9thegr43sf485vg what does cashu need to go into the stratosphere? Client adoption? New wallets? Existing wallet adoption? More mints? Guides on how to use it?
Feedback, reckless testers, support, devs and designers 💜🥜🤙
You are doing great 🤙
Manz people (luckily) never get into a situation where free speech is so heavily restricted that it actually hurts them. For those who seek an alternative, nostr is the place to be 💜
👀🥜
This should have been there from the beginning. Better late then never 💜
Nope, there is no way to permanently delete a nostr account. This button will update your profile and mark it as deleted. If a client enforces this or not is up to them.
At the current rate transactions can become very expensive quite quickly. We have seen this several times in the last year. Especially people from lower income countries struggle quickly. But even in the US and Europe DCA and bad UTXO Management caused painful transaction costs.
I truly do not believe the solution is either black or white. We need a vast space of different options addressing different audiences and their needs. What makes bitcoin special is that you get to choose which one you want to use.
Complexity or cost-wise?
GM nostr! Did you recharge during the holidays? LFG and build 🤙
Yep. For some reason the spec defines it as either cashu: or cashu:// but it should be cashu:
nostr:npub12rv5lskctqxxs2c8rf2zlzc7xx3qpvzs3w4etgemauy9thegr43sf485vg do you know why the spec shows both versions?
Update: It is now only `cashu:
Did you read the blogpost? It could be seamless

My favourite April fools joke on the bird app
1. be a Bitcoin company
2. announce a shitcoin pivot on April fools
3. ???
4. profit
#nostr just keeps getting more punk. Since returning, I’ve enabled or am using:

I’ve been a cashu maxi (#cashu is #eCash for #bitcoin) since I first heard about it. npub.cash is filling a necessary void on nostr and offering so much more in terms of privacy. If you are a new user of #nostr, npub.cash has a wallet waiting for you, tied to your npub that can send and receive cashu and Lightning immediately. This option eliminates a lot of friction for new users and also exposes them to the possibilities existent with eCash.
While this option is custodial, for new users, having the ability to receive funds almost immediately on the platform is worth the trade off in my opinion.
Precursor:
Set up is easy but login to the site should be done with an extension like alby (I use Nostore for safari). This will allow you to safely login to your wallet without sharing your secret key.
Set Up:
Navigate to https://npub.cash. Enable your extension (in safari click on the little puzzle piece in the search bar and select Nostore, I typically allow access for one day). Click the “try it” button and give permissions when prompted (it asks me twice to allow signing). After this you should see your wallet, along with your own personal npub.cash address:
Take this address and copy it. Open Damus and navigate to your profile. Click edit in the upper right hand corner and scroll down to the box where you put in information for Bitcoin Lightning Tips. Paste the information you copied from npub.cash and save. Restart Damus. Any payments made to your profile or published content on nostr will be directed to this wallet in the form of eCash. You will receive DM notifications any time a payment is received. eCash can be swapped for lightning at any time and sent to any wallet of your choice.
npub.cash doesn’t come without risk so heed the warnings on their site and do your own research on what those risks are! If you’re new to nostr you’re probably up for a little risk tho, right? ;) Also if new, you’ll probably fall down a rabbit hole of learning. With respect to npub.cash:

eNuts is a cashu app (#cashu is #ecash for #bitcoin ) for iOS and android. I’m currently using it to transfer cashu tokens from my npub.cash wallet with zero fees. After that I’m using it as a daily lightning wallet to pay invoices, zap plebs, etc. The app also has nostr integration. Inputting your npub will import your follow list (?) from nostr, giving you the ability to send eCash payments direct to these users through DM with ZERO FEES. So far, I really like the app in terms of stability and ease of use. Again, using eNuts comes with risk, make sure you understand them and do your own research!
Toggle zaps.
If you’re missing the zap feature on Damus:
https://nostrscript.suhailsaqan.com
visit this site and click the “on” button, it will ask if you want to open Damus (click “yes”), it will take you to a page with the option to run script (click that). Restart Damus. 🤯 (to turn zaps off, navigate to the above website and repeat the steps (but select the “off” option)
Super glad you like it! Thank you for sharing 🥜🔥
Good morning everyone,
Following extensive analysis over several weeks, I've concluded that to truly realize npub.cash's full capabilities, a significant change is necessary. Effective immediately, all npub.cash balances will transition from Cashu ecash to BCH. This shift is grounded in BCH's superior scaling capabilities, which I am convinced will greatly enhance the breadth and efficiency of what npub.cash can achieve.
I did not make this decision lightly and while I anticipate some push back I truely believe that this will benefit us all in the long run…
I have started a new repository for this migration. A brief overview can be found at https://npub-tra.sh
Realised that I ordered from a shop in Australia so I cancelled and ordered from a shop in the EU.
Was happily surprised by them accepting not only on-chain BTC but Lightning and also giving 3% off on BTC payments 🧡🙌🏻
