The web would look vastly different if it was not for display advertisement. It enabled millions of content creators world wide. Value4Value can change that, but we are not quite there yet.
This is a very difficult topic. If you limit marketing cookies on the web you hurt publishers (as most of them monetise through ads and CPMs plummet once you don’t have cookie) and cause advertisers to pump even more money into walled gardens like meta (as those have EULA / ToCs that make you opt in to their tracking).
At the same time advertisers come up with other ideas to track you like email based, deterministic IDs…

After days of debugging and reading CBOR spec I finally had a major breakthrough and was able to fully encode a v3 Token in cashu-ts. Yay! 👀

The next release of npub.cash will include a token history. There you can re-surface your last 50 withdrawals.
Why? This will enable me to be much more optimistic about token state. Once you click claim, the server will reduce your balance and mark the eCash as spent. Even if something goes wrong afterwards (e.g. you close the website before being able to claim) you can show the token again to claim it.

Most changes are under the hood, optimising the way npub.cash handles token state in order to reduce the amount of requests.
Also I am adding support for nostr-based cashu wallets like nutsack 👀 Users will be able to withdraw their balance to their nostr-cashu-wallet. Furthermore you can setup a "redirect" so that all transactions land in your nostr-cashu-wallet automatically, essentially adding a npub.cash address to every nostr-cashu-wallet out there.
These changes do not only require a lot of work on npubcash-server, but also on the website and the SDK. I hope to get it out by early next week 💜
