Twice now my wife has called me to look into the night sky to observe a drone/UFO. Once was Jupiter. The other was Saturn. Don’t know why they’re so big and bright at the moment, but they are. I’m no astronomer, but I do have this app. It even tracks the ISS.

There was also a plane.

I’m sick of hearing about everyone’s sexuality. I don’t give a fuck. I don’t think anyone gives a fuck. I don’t care if you’re gay, bi, queer, trans, or straight. I’m not sure this is a good forum for this, but I’ll ask anyway. I’m soon to be 57 and I’m noodling with the idea of learning the violin. Not because I think I’ll be good or anything, but because it seems like an interesting distraction. This is my question. What is a reasonable amount to pay for a violin so that you don’t quit because it sucks? What’s the cheapest thing I can buy and still learn? Be honest. #Violin

I know it’s not true, but lately I’ve begun to think that deep down, everyone I know from Canada is only two steps away from being a character in the show Letterkenny. I’m sorry. Even though the show is funny and well written, I know those are stereotypes and not indicative of who you are as people, but after working across the country for many years, from east to west, it’s really pretty fucking close.

I have no interest in generative AI, but Adobe’s new capabilities for isolating objects and extending backgrounds its not only impressive, but terribly useful. That’s about the end of it for me. Any art created by a machine ceases to be art. It’s nothing. A cheap facsimile. Noise.

It’s 30ºF right now. The low was 27ºF. This is practically as cold as it gets in NJ anymore. It will be 50º by Sunday and 55º on Tuesday. We only get spurts of winter anymore.

It did snow yesterday for about three minutes. More like a mix of snow and rain. Still, it was exciting. Like seeing a unicorn run by.

We’re more likely to be sitting outside in the sun at Christmas, enjoying a fire, than a White Christmas.
