Yeah yeah yeah, but is bitcoin a bubble?

Escape velocity principle is why most people don’t invest and stay relatively poor: if you have a small amount to invest you feel you have to bet it all or it won’t make any difference. And so you always worry about timing or that you might lose it all. So you end up not doing anything.

The key is patience, invest until you reach escape velocity and “betting” 20% won’t break you but can add a substantial amount to your net worth. But patience is hard, especially in times of insta-gratification apps.

More like USSR + trans bathrooms and chemically castrated children.

No society can survive for long with this level of depravity.

We need a critical mass of people to start pushing back hard against all kinds of financial assassination. Convenience and perceived safety are these bastards call of the siren. It’s not enough to say “censorship resistant” to business owners. But I’m confident the tools are coming.

I was moved to tears several times at Bitcoin Atlantis in Madeira.

The quality, sincerity, generosity, kindness, respect, and encouragement which characterize the interactions I had is on a level I’ve never before witnessed or experienced.

All those people, with a shared passion and dedication for the mission, humbled by all which it represents, interacting with each other as fundamentally equal, but experientially and intellectually unique, creates the best possible foundation for friendship, for mutual understanding, for helping and supporting each other, or for just hanging out and basking in the shared experience, and whatever forces are generating it.

It’s become such a consistent occurrence (though more pronounced each time) that it’s easy to forget just how special it is.

Bitcoin (only) conferences aren’t ‘industry events’, they are little wormholes to the future that flash open for a few days so people can feel what things are like when we orient and express our actions around such a form of truth - as represented in, accessed through, and propagated by, bitcoin.

‘Number go up’ is great and necessary, and none of this would happen without it, but it’s a ‘means’, not an ‘ends’.

What is experienced between people when they are so humbled by the truth, and so lifted and liberated by its presence, is the true nexus of creative inspiration, from which all that is good and beautiful may spring. That is the true ‘ends’, which we might simply understand to be alignment with the generative force we call ‘love’, and the products thereof.

Not the phony, wishy-washy, ‘everyone can be right’ kind of ‘love’, but the one which allows for argument and debate, honest feedback and opinion, while remaining grounded in a paramount aim that is movement toward Truth, which subordinates any divisive differences to this, ultimately uniting, shared objective.

Anyways, Bitcoin Atlantis just reminded me how incredible what’s happening here really is, and how much of a pleasure and honour it is to be sharing it with you (you know who you are).

Thank you.

Everything around us has gotten to a level of fakeness which is becoming unbearable. From news to mass manipulation to human interaction. Bitcoin is monetary truth, but it awakens the thirst for truth in all aspects of human life.

I don’t see where the hypocrisy is? His stance was: you need to be 10x more ambitious with raising funds or you’ll never have a chance to compete with Google/MS. And now they are in practice a subsidiary of MS. He funded them with the common objective of being independent from MS.

You could write an article saying Saylor and every other bitcoiner happy about what ETFs will do to price discovery, as being hypocrites…

If I see that epoxy resin ad on “X” one more time…

Is there any wallet available for Europeans that allows you to buy with CC? Unfortunately going through Primal is not possible, where I live it seems I pay 6 euros to get 1 euro worth of sats. Not very motivating for onboarding people.

Admit it, you also think “nostr” is a silly name.

I understand about the 30% Apple store fee, but even with that, if I try to add using the currency in my country, Romania, I pay 6x more than what I get in sats equivalent…Something seems very wrong in the conversion.

These don’t look too much like a honey badger though…more like a bear cub or raccoon. Are these Dall-E?

Greetings to all. I am by no means a technical expert and would need your guidance on what you consider to be the easiest and most cost effective way right now to get a pleb/merchant to start using LN? What is the best way to make the first purchase? What are the cheapest options to send and receive? If they would like an off-ramp, what options do you think are best? So many wallets and options…it’s not yet so obvious to me where the best entry point into the ecosystem is, so any guidance is very much appreciated!
