Likes are the simplest social signal you can send. Our problem is that Big Social has bent social signals into algorithms optimized for engagement. The social signals themselves are not evil.

I think money is a worse proxy for value than simple signals like “approval” that humans have been using forever. Some people are poor and will be under-represented. Some people are rich and can send huge zaps. I’m not interested in the market value of peoples notes. I’m interested in learning from them, being entertained, keeping in touch with friends I’m not with.

Micropayments are great for many things. But let’s not build all relationships on money. Trust is where it’s at.

One interesting thing I noticed about my usage of reactions: I was over-using it because I didn’t want to deal with the friction of zaps. I’m now finding myself wanting better zap customization (change default amounts) and faster zaps. #onlyzaps

That’s where my “generational wealth” sits at. I don’t even have access to it directly either just sitting there and stacking up. Using LN and Nostr to explore transact ability and daily movements but want to explore getting the sats back to L1 in the most convenient fashion without losing too much to feed because as tiem goes on those little fees will add up for whoever’s taking them from me. Im satisfied with the L1 on chain wallet to wallet transfer transfer fees going to miners but the LN to L1 fees i cant sleep well with lol
