I remember this being something Nietzsche quoted at the beginning of his 'Daybreak'. Don't remember who said it, but I like it. It's inspiring.

Many years ago, I made a speaker with a paper cup, a strong magnet, a tiny coil of wire wrapped around paper, and a coin. Was a lot of fun, and much easier than I expected. Excellent and simple way to demonstrate to young minds how electromagnetic vibrations are turned into sound vibrations
