I know many people with a strong desire for it. Your strong desire doesn't mean shit when you need >2k a month just to pay for housing and the only jobs available to you are halfway across the country from where your family lives.

Standard of living is declining for most people compared to 50-100 years ago. Entertainment is awful if you have a soul. Food quality is dogshit goyslop. Technology and healthcare I'll give you.
But the ability to have community, the ability to create and maintain meaningful relationships, the ability to actually spend time with those who matter to you and in general a sense of purpose and belonging are all way worse than they have ever been. And those are the things that actually bring joy and contentment to people.
Also the plethora of addictive and destructive forces in life people are exposed to, like pornography and drugs, don't help matters one bit.
