I've re arranged a lot this year. To better accommodate and situate myself for future protection, against fees, against confiscation, and for my own peace of mind.
A lot has changed. Everything will keep changing. Lightning is icing on top for me right now. The fact I can move my money to better situations and solutions for varying use case, with no permission, only subject to my own mistakes and mismanagement. Still blows my mind.
I'll keep adjusting. Spooky regulations aren't shaking me out when I hold the keys to the on chain settlement in either case. Or based on an analytic of a utxo moved within six months.

Same here. I've stretched my tech abilities pretty thin getting my full core node set up. Now there's all the "switch from core to knots" lightning seems still too far out of my ability to fully self host all my own stack, at least for the time being.
But the attack on all these "providers" and attempts at forcing users into regulatory KYC "hosted" and compliant on and off ramps by scaring them out of self custody is clearly underway.
They haven't outright threatened the users yet, aside from they're "you risk losing funds if you use these 'illicit' tools" but I'm sure that's coming as well.
Looks like I'll have to accelerate my capabilities. Fuck them.
Same here, thinking I might as well use my inbound there to shuffle some things and open some larger channels to Zeus and Mutiny as well. Worst case on chain will suffice if need be. 😮💨🥴
I miss a ton here, and I'm aware it's an open protocol and there are degrees to embracing that, but the less gamified and trending algorithmic feel it has to me the better. And personally not using many other clients it's hard to gauge what others' actual view of Nostr is. Part of me likes nostr.band to keep an eye on what I've sent versus received. Part of me hates the only way that works is if it's public.
