I hate the password nazis. At least 8 chars, at least one number, one punctuation, one uppercase... That's all crap. It leads to "MyPassword1."

We have known for decades that a better approach is to pick two or three or four random words. "sticker cube bead robot". That's easy to remember and a LOT better than "Mitzie1."

Each hour is divided into 45 min of lecture and 15 min of Q&A. The lecture part is pretty free wheeling. If you are familiar with my work much will be recognizable to you; but some will not. My views have been refined over the years. The value add for you would be in the Q&A and in the manner in which the information is presented.

There has been a very damagine meme circulating in software circles that Object Oriented Programming is obsolete and harmful. This is just plain silly. It is often promulgated by people who have recently adopted a functional programming language and have become functional zealots.

The best software designs are admixtures of the three major paradigms from the 50s and 60s: Structured Programming, Object Oriented Programming, and Functional Programming.

Functional Design is in production. The copyediting is done. The illustrations are complete. This was a fun book to write. Lots and lots of Clojure code and tons of design principles and design patterns.

I have no idea. Why not both? At very least you don't need an invitation to be on nostr.
