Interested in politics, economics, Bitcoin and trying to monitor the increasing government overreach. #Democracy #Freedom

lopp@lopp.net Such a shame I could only listen to the first 15 mins of #CASA's webinar due to work. Any chance we could get a replay ?

why does art have to revolve around death, dead people or the destruction of the human being ? I'm going to be an old git and mention I find more melody and experience a greater pleasure at art that brings out beauty and the essence of what it is to be human. Yes the imptessionist movement belongs to the past now but why glorify death and destruction above all ?

I'm so glad you mention #europe here Lyn. Arguably the #EU which was sold to us europeans as a means to achieve prosperity, protect us from thre rise of China and the influence of the US and ensure peace accross the continent has proven to deliver the exact opposite : trade agreements favour lesser regulated imports over highly regulated EU production ; we're litterally in the hands of the US doubling down on it's proxy war against Russia just as the US themselves are reducing their support for Ukraine and we're doing everything possible to remain at war with Russia. This would not have happened had nation states kept their sovereignty which is long gone now. If one pays attention to Mario Draghi, he is litterally calling for the creation of one big state and the abolition of the nation states, a perfect exemple of centralisation. As we can see, centralisation is made ideological to garner support but is pursued by hidden interests. Who pulls the strings in the #EU ? Not the citizens ! Nobody asked me if I was ok with censoring Russia Today and Sputnik in february 2022 when the russians started their special opperation. Nor did the citizens have a say in the escalation of the conflict by EU leaders, of course not, otherwise we wouldn't allow it and cheap gaz might be running from Russia to Germany again, imagine ! Anyway, you are right, power is taken from us not all at once lest we shall all demonstrate but little by little. That's precisely how the #EU was built, over the years. It's now a beauraucratic behemoth that only the most powerful lobbies know how to navigate. It has a lot of characteristics in common with communism : it's centralisation of power, the use of censorship to control narratives and therefore the minds, it's challenging of property rights also : when your real estate doesn't meet a certain grade of insullation you are now banned from renting or selling it. It's high time citizens accross nation states realise we have nothing to gain from giving up so much power. #Frexit #Italexit #Nexit #Spanexit

Nice. I would like to do that too but I have never used Linux / Ubuntu. Are you a computer engineer ? If not did you find some good ressources to learn how to set it up and use it ?

Great. And you connect them to Ocean poo ? What have your rewards been so far ?

Absolutely. But if you have to pay with your card, you're no longer 100% anonymous right ? The best way I found is to buy with cash directly from someone but transactions are capped at around €1500 and the sats come at a premium. Have you bought P2P ? What channel did you use ?

I have a good stash of BTC all bought through exchanges. I'm keen to buy non-KYC BTC now to send to an anonymous adress. Could you tell me what is your preferred channel ?

A real bitcoiner ™️

You might not characterize the community of bitcoiners as a welcoming group of folks. Market forces have caused some of the most vocal among us to have developed a certain “toxicity”. And this is a rational mechanism of defense against all the nonsense scams, schemes and fraudsters orbiting bitcoin (and boy are there a lot of them!).

However, I have a more welcoming idea to share. You can be a “real bitcoiner™️” without subscribing to all the angry toxicity. I’d suggest all it takes is understanding what makes bitcoin special. I have been accused of not being a “real bitcoiner™️” at times. But, I don’t really care. I’ve been on a continual journey of educating myself and my friends about this technology. You can begin to climb the educational ladder as soon as you begin to become curious. Understand what bitcoin uniquely adds to the world: digital scarcity.

A partially ordered list of the stages you might go through:

+ buy some bitcoin via an ETF

+ buy some bitcoin and hold it on an exchange

+ understand what makes bitcoin special

+ withdraw some bitcoin to a non-custodial wallet

+ withdraw some bitcoin to cold storage run a bitcoin full node

+ explore privacy preserving technologies like TOR and CoinJoin

+ buy some non-KYC’d bitcoin

+ convert all your personal assets to bitcoin

+ run a bitcoin miner

+ exclusively hold all your wealth in cold storage

+ exclusively use bitcoin to pay for all your monetary needs

+ move to El Salvador or another bitcoin-centric community/region

+ only participate in circular economies on the bitcoin standard

The beauty of bitcoin is that it’s a voluntary system that nobody controls. So don’t let anyone shame you into living up to their expectations of what it means to be a “real bitcoiner™️”. I’m somewhere in the middle of this list personally. The further I get down the list, the more curious I become about items a bit further down. I don’t expect I’ll be moving to El Salvador, but I’m a “real bitcoiner™️” and you can be, too.

Have you managed to buy non KYC BTC ? How do you do it ? I feel we might have a window of opportunity here but that it could close once CBDCs enter the stage.

I was thinking of getting into mining just to get anonymous sats. Maybe a service offering hosted mining with no kyc ? Have you looked into that ?

London is just an exemple, it's all over the western world. I would move to a BRICSs nation if I wasn't going to loose too much revenue and job security. It's still an option for later.

what surface area risk ? my multisig is secured with 2 hardware wallets plus a key kept by casaa. ETH available doesn't change anything as far as I can tell. Having my 2 hardware wallets necessary to sign any transaction in different locations is what provides the security of the setup.
