Ive pondered this myself. I think a return to a hard money standard will be necessary. This will become too obvious to ignore. I think a gold standard vs bitcoin standard will be debated with bitcoin ultimately winning out. gold is far to cumbersome for our current society.

I think there will always be options for anonymous bitcoin transactions of you know how to do it. But like all commerce, the majority of transactions will be perfectly legal. The public ledger is a deterrent for bad actors, be it common criminals or, more importantly, state sponsored/white collar crime.
Am impression I get from non bitcoiners is that the only way bitcoin suceeds is if we slip into some crypto anarchist state.
