First live Rugby League game of the year for me today. Leeds Rhinos v Wakefield Trinity at Headingley. I bet there aren't that many Nostriches who are into RL. Maybe I could start a trend.

I should use this relay more.

As far as ideal relay setup, Haven has you covered for Outbox, Public Inbox, DM Inbox, and Private Relay, along with Blossom server. You might want to have one or two other relays in each category as backups in case your Haven relay is down or otherwise unreachable.

If you are using #Amethyst or another client that also lets you set your search and general relays, I would select some decent sized public relays that most folks are posting to for your search relays. Damus and Primal will get you most Nostr-native notes, and the relay.mostr.pub will get you notes that were bridged over from Mastodon. I would avoid using ANY of these as General relays with the Global setting turned on, though, unless you like spam.

For General relays to read from Global, I highly recommend paid relays such as nostr.wine, or web-of-trust relays like wot.utxo.one.

Cool. That's a great help, thanks for that. I've only turned to Nostr in the past couple of months but I'm always keen to selfhost stuff if I can. When I came across the #Haven relay it was a great fit for me.

I'm running the #Haven personal relay. From what I understand, any notes I post to my relay will be sent to the relays in relays_blastr. Therefore, I only need to send to my relay for my notes to spread across the network.

Is that correct, or have I misunderstood it — and if so, what's the ideal relay setup for my nostr client(s).

Don't use nsecbunker.com. It's defunct. Use Amber, NAK, Knox or Keycast.

Argh OK. Battled away with node versions and fixing stuff in the package.json this morning, and finally got it running via docker compose.

I got Amber running anyway but thanks.

I see that app.nsecbunker.com is showing a Nginx 500 error. Is that just a temporary status, or is it not a thing anymore? #asknostr
