I'm pretty sure most of those types work at soulless studios for the consistent pay to support said families. The risk of working on an indie project, sometimes for years at a time, is usually too risky for most good family men to consider. This I'd bet is why so many degenerates are into making indie games. They live by themselves and maybe a homosexual "partner" which gives them the financial freedom to take such risks. Thinking about it now, this is probably why Nazi Germany had so many advancements in such a short time. They heavily minimized the overhead of starting and maintaining a family. This is also why you should be extraordinarily risky while you're young, unless you have very strong finances out of the gate I guess.
