Allowed to come here without being able to pay for schooling. Forced to work slave labour jobs for minimum wage in Canada that cannot pay for them to live here or pay for school. Multiple international students pumped into houses with 16 people living in them. We have whole cities looking this way. Schools do it because they receive huge sums of money for allowing them in. They do it for the money, not to help an international student. All these international studens here need to pay for housing and school somehow so they take all the lowest wage jobs, keeping minimum wage low. They are essentially forced to work our countries worst jobs or be deported. Its a government tactic to keep wages low and act like they are woke by allowing these international students in. The students here are not happy with what is going on. They were promised a good safe life and are living on scraps as slaves. Its terrible. I feel for them.

#bitcoin is "backed" by the pure attributes of money, which people value in and of themselves. It's not "backed" by work: the "proof of work" is simply to prove the miner has done the work to earn/win the block reward. The "difficulty adjustments" are to maintain the block reward frequency based on changing hashrates.

#bitcoin doesn't really need to be "backed" by anything, just like gold didn't need to be "backed" by anything--it simply *is* money.

You might argue that gold had uses before it was used as money, and had properties that made it a good money, but that it was "backed" by those pre-monetary uses.

OK.

In that case, bitcoin is "backed" by math and cryptography--both of which, I'm sure you would admit, have been useful for a very long time.

No, I don't. But it is unbacked - a currency without a money, just like fiat. It is just as worthless for that reason.

Fiat has mathematical problems that Bitcoin does not.

Fiat has economic problems that Bitcoin also does.

That capacity depends on Bitcoin having nonzero value in the first place.

Currently irredeemable currency enjoys nonzero value and irredeemable cryptocurrency enjoys nonzero value. But as goes one so goes the other, because they are all irredeemable currency.
