While it's great to see Chevrolet paying homage to their racing heritage at the upcoming Le Mans race and offering a unique package for enthusiasts to celebrate, there are some notable problems that will leave performance-minded buyers disappointed.

One major issue I see with the Garage 56 special edition is the lack of any significant engine and suspension upgrades. We only get a little more aero and a sticker package. Truly a missed opportunity here.
For what it's worth though the sticker and color combo looks awesome to me. Can only imagine the markup with 56 being made.π€―
None of these will ever see the road sadly and will be bought up by collectors and speculators. #carnews #cars #carstr #grownostr

1963 Shelby Cooper Type 61 Monaco King Cobra aka the Shelby King Cobra
The 1963 Shelby Cooper Type 61 Monaco King Cobra was developed as a joint venture between Carroll Shelby and British racing car manufacturer John Cooper.

The car was designed specifically for racing and featured a lightweight chassis, powerful V8 engine and aerodynamic bodywork. Cooper contributed to the development of the car's suspension system, which was specially designed to handle the demands of high-speed racing. Under the hood, the King Cobra was powered by a massive 289 cubic inch V8 engine that produced over 400 horsepower. This engine was paired with a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential, allowing the car to accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 4.2 seconds. The car's top speed was over 185 mph, making it one of the fastest cars of its time.
The King Cobra was also incredibly aerodynamic, with a sleek body design that reduced drag and increased downforce at high speeds. It was equipped with advanced suspension and braking systems that allowed it to handle tight turns and stop quickly when needed. The car's tires were specially designed for endurance racing, with a softer compound that provided better grip on the track.
The Shelby Cooper Monaco King Cobra's impressive performance on the track, winning several prestigious races during its career. In addition to its victories at the Nassau Tourist Trophy and lap record at Laguna Seca, the King Cobra also won multiple Can-Am races in 1963 with driver Dave MacDonald at the wheel. The car's powerful V8 engine, lightweight chassis and aerodynamic bodywork made it a formidable contender on the track, and it was driven by some of the most skilled drivers of its time.Despite its impressive technical specifications, the Shelby Monaco King Cobra only raced in a handful of events before being retired due to changes in sports car racing regulations. #racing #cars #carstr #grownostr

1965 McKee Mk. V Sports Racer
The 1965 McKee Mk. V Sports Racer is a Hemi powered race car that captured the hearts of racing enthusiasts around the world.

The Mk. V Sports Racer was designed by Bob McKee, an accomplished race car builder. The Mk. V was powered by Chrysler 426 cubic inch Hemi V8 making 600hp and weighing in at only 1600 pounds. This combo led several victories by driver Bob Montana with 2 late-season SCCA victories in 1965 and qualifying fifth on the grid for the Los Angeles Times Grand Prix at Riverside.
The sleek and aerodynamic design of the car made it highly competitive on the racetrack, but by the end of 1967 season with the rise of monocoque-chassis it quickly became obsolete in the Can-Am race series. McKee Mk. V continued racing until being officially retired from racing in 1969. #cars #racing #grownostr
