Or at-least, i’d love to walk beside you.

I’ve been trying for MANY months now, but it’s no use.

Your shadow; your shadow always renders me invisible.

I’m doing everything you do. I’m putting in the time. I’m learning the same tools.

Why? Why is it that you do this better than I do?

No. You don’t.

You’re better at spotting danger, but I’m better at improvising.

You’re better at jumping over hurdles, but I’m better at tackling them.

But my skills are useless; useless when I’m walking the same path as you.

I can’t beat you at being you.

I can only shine at being me.

This is your path; the one that best fits you.

So I make a decision.

I stop.

I decide to be brave.

I go in a different direction.

I take responsibility.

I make my own path - or I’ll find it along the way.

I’m not sure if I’ll get where I want to go…but at-least; at-least now, I walk among light, instead of someone else’s shadow.
