Get your backups from your X soon

There were other platforms already at the time like Facebook.
Why not pick the 13th of Oct, 1994 when Netscape announced their browser and the Internet officially got started.
Hard to argue you were messaging publicly before that unless with some BBS.
Introducing EXIT
You broke up with your ex; it wasn’t treating you well, maybe it was shadow banning you or your friends; it was manipulating you into becoming your worst possible self.
But over the years you accrued a bunch of quality shitposts, and perhaps some nuggets of wisdom.
Introducing: https://exit.pub:
The last bridge you’ll need to port over your data into the new world of decentralized freedom-tech.
1. Download your twitter archive
2. If Elon agrees, you’ll get a zip file; uncompress it and just use exit.pub to import your data into nostr
✅ original dates are used; whatever you posted in 2009 will show up as posted in nostr in 2009
✅ granular control of which tweets to import (threads, non-replies, replies)
✅ V4V, you choose how much your shitposts are worth
✅ it *should* preserve embedded images
✅ granular control of which relays you want to publish to
Try it out:
And before you push EXIT consider running this to get the full reso pics and for your personal archive the full links etc.

I have been wondering how to do this for months.
Hosting on Wordpress the images (with own domain) sound like the most feasible solution but it's a bit hassle to do the uploading and get the link for every post.
Would serving files from personal iCloud, Google Drive etc. be an option, too?
If Github was Netflix, and you are fed only the hook.
Gotta wait for the latest commit or release if you're unlucky…

Has anyone found a good cross-poster?
Ideally, would be to use Nostr as the base but could also be X, Bluesky or something else, and then the note is posted to other platforms.
Found these:

https://github.com/eramdam/tweet-forker/tree/main

The reality is that network effect dictates what you need to use and we are in the fragmentation era. So, either you follow your networks or you’re invisible despite your preferences and favourites.
Here's a screen capture and what happens:
1) Clicked the author and it opens in a new tab
2) Copied the post text and pasted it into a reply to show that it’s pure text
3) Copied the note source and pasted it to show what it has in it.
That’s all 🤙

This level of execution beauty was never achieved on Twitter.
The note is not an image but a genuine quote where the author is a clickable link and you can copy the note text with a single click.

It did not open on my MacOS
Lots of classics available now on audiobook format for free.
You can listen on Spotify, Google or Apple podcasts

I ran it on Brave (MacOS) and DuckDuckGo on iPad and did not get the backup file nor is there anything on the BU Database.
I just put the npub and clicked the Backup & Broadcast.
Nothing a little threat of “only paid users” change cannot make to look for alts 😁
If you haven’t tested Nostur on Apple devices now is the perfect time 🤙 nostr:note1jg88p29nv5q42qv7lg7pr5t96d6u89za0lkcp8ufv9a09xcejr5qsdql38
Nah - I'm done with those. Did them for so many years but you can read the audio clips as transcript 😁
The app is also available now on Android and iOS. No waitlist anymore and the clips work on browser, too.
If errors are not allowed we cannot learn and progress.
Knowledge is the most important resource. If you ban innovation you stop progress because the learning stops.
You cannot dictate innovation or buy it with money.
Had some live-TV fun on regular TV last night.

What happens to the founders that work with Elon Musk?
Walter Isaacson’s new book about Elon Musk just came out. I finished it today and here’s a thread about things I picked up from it:
