Getting wealthier would not affect my lifestyle much. I would just eat more steak and wild salmon roe. Caviar is heavenly.
The app is supposed to be text only. Maybe I will add an opt-in way for showing media down the line but it's very low priority for me.
All notes are normal notes. Voyage just displays them as if hashtags were subreddits.
I will eventually add a filter to only show friends or topic posts.
I really should test with different devices. It never crashes on mine..
I will not add images and videos. The client is supposed to be text only.
Damn, I thought it was fast. Or at least not slow..
But the performance right after logging-in sucks for sure.
Yeah. It's happening every time Amber is used for signing.. Will fix in next release
We need standardize and implement it in clients. I only outlined how it could look like.
You would have a nostr event authored by the relay operator with a fancy name and description that points to an IP. People use this event in their relay list. If the operator changes the IP he will update the event and everyone migrates seamlessly.
No super relays
A domain name is just a string you have to pay for and the good ones are all taken 😂
Domains are only easier because no one is working on a nostr solution yet.
I don't understand your last point.
Nostr doesn't need domains. Just connect via raw ip address. If you change the ip of your relay you can update your relay list and the outbox model ensures that people still connect to that relay.
We would need a nip to improve the transition for other peoples relay lists though.
I never used hashtags on Twitter but they work really well on nostr. More people should use them and more clients should allow setting them without having to write it in the note body.
You can see this note in grownostr without any ugly hashtags in the body.
How does Tor help in this regard?
The human #prehistory rabbit hole is the reason I want to create a wiki client on nostr. So many interesting theories that I'm missing out on because they are hard to find. Wikipedia doesn't even mention them.
But first I will get Voyage to the point where I can put it on maintenance mode.
I don't want to receive the whole thread when querying the direct replies to a root post. Waste of precious mobile data.
Georg Forster - A Voyage Round the World
-> It's the travel report of James Cooks second voyage to the south seas
Graham Hancock - Fingerprints of the gods
-> Talks about traces of a forgotten antediluvian civilization. Blew my mind and learned some astronomy.
