In my humble opinion, Zelensky lacked pragmatism today. Trump was direct as always, I don't know what the surprise is... Dude, you're not in a position to call the shots. But with me, you can call the shots. Just be grateful for everything the US has given you so far, and make a deal that is good for both sides. End.

I know very well that this is wrong in this story. The culprit is Russia... The culprit is Putin. But let's face it, either we enter a third world war so that Ukraine can regain its lost territories or we have to find peace.

From a diplomatic point of view, JD Vance made it clear, Trump wants to help his country diplomatically... And you come here to the Oval Office to debate, in front of the American media?? V Are you trying to make propaganda at our expense? And that's when Trump intervened, I wanted to know how far this would go, and in fact the way things were seen, it's good for everyone to see that, there is no way we can negotiate this way.

In the end, I didn't see any lack of respect on either side, it was a discussion of points of view, this talk of Zelensky being humiliated, Trump screwing Zelensky, is a media trick to exaggerate the situation.

Trump himself said at the end, good TV material, right? lol

So, in short, Zelensky should have been more pragmatic and expressed his views at the closed-door meeting, rather than in the Oval Office in front of the entire media. I truly believe that this way everything wouldn't have gone to shit.

Now it's time to wait... It's good that it's clear to everyone what diplomatic discussions behind closed doors are like. Well friends, not everything is as pretty as Hollywood makes it out to be.

I can only imagine what the Allies' closed-door conversations were like during the Second World War. Today it is clear, the conversations are frank and the talk is straightforward.

Why this matters: We have a once in a generation shot of creating a country that runs on a Bitcoin standard. If we miss the Suriname opportunity, another one that fits the profile (small, developing world, Central Bank is just a fiat wallet with no monetary policy function) may not come along for another 10 years.

Why that matters: Without a working example of a small country which has moved to a Bitcoin standard, larger nations will be too scared to follow.

Why I know I'm right about this: I grew up in NZ (another small country) in the 1980s when was first in the world to deregulate energy, telco and financial markets, fully float the dollar and lower the inflation target to 2%. The rest of the world quickly followed. Sadly, NZ no longer has the same bold political leadership, that epicenter has moved to a small handful of nations in Africa and Latin America, such as El Salvador, and Suriname.

But El Salvador has not and is not in a position to progress their Bitcoin revolution to a full Bitcoin standard. They are not in a position to remove their central bank, or replace their dollarized currency with Bitcoin. Suriname is.

I regard the work Maya is doing in Suriname right now as one of the most important projects we can dedicate our time and energy to. If you have a skill in organising, campaigning or just are really good at execution, reach out to her.

It won't be easy. That which is worthwhile seldom is. And I can't promise that your efforts will bear fruit, but if a shot at tangibly changing the course of not just Bitcoin history, but history, appeals you won't think twice about it.

I feel torn between feelings of empathy and mischievous delight looking at the LA fires.

On the one side these are people who lost their homes, memories and livelihoods. They are probably confused, scared, sad and angry about what happened.

On the other side people living in these areas are very much responsible in accelerating #climatechange, which disproportionately affects people in less privileged communities throughout the globe.

Although I hope that these traumatic events will inspire some to zoom out and make changes, I feel most people will just go back to business as usual once the first shock is settled down.

I have no definite answers, I just feel that #Bitcoin might be a big part of the solution to fundamentally change the incentive structure of our global economic system, which will produce more and more disaster videos on your timeline until you get up and demonstrate change on #SaturdaysForSatoshi.
