The more I hear on Day, the more I am liking his policies and politicking.
But, in all honesty, I think our Nation has suffered enough from all the politicking. I have been disenfranchised for over a decade now, especially after the last 8 years… we, as a nation, are not moving in a repairable fashion, more of a small bandaid for a chest-sucking wound…
If my choices are “shit” or “crap”, well, I’m going to decline them all…
Today’s a historic day for cannabis consumers in Maryland!
Starting today, July 1, adults 21+ can legally possess up to 1.5 ounces of cannabis flower and cultivate up to two plants for their personal use. Also starting today, adults can purchase cannabis from existing medical cannabis dispensaries that convert their license to dual-use. (Social equity licenses will be issued in early 2024.)
Here at MPP, we’re reflecting on all the hard work it took to reach this historic moment.
On November 8, 2022, 67.2% of Maryland voters approved Question 4 — a legislatively referred ballot question to legalize cannabis for adults 21 and over. This was the highest margin of any ballot measure to legalize cannabis. This year, lawmakers took the next step and passed twin bills (HB 556/ SB 516) that implement an adult-use cannabis market in Maryland, which Governor Wes Moore signed into law.
MPP is proud to have played a leading role in efforts to legalize medical and adult-use cannabis in Maryland from the very beginning. We established ourselves as a trusted voice for cannabis policy — speaking with dozens of lawmakers, testifying at hearings, and mobilizing grassroots support to ensure that Maryland’s cannabis policies prioritize fairness, equity, and criminal justice.
As we celebrate the victory in Maryland today, we also recognize how much work needs to be done across the country to bring equitable cannabis policies to the people. As we look to the opportunities in play in the months ahead, we need your support to secure more victories.
We know what it takes to keep changing laws and changing lives, and you can be a vital part of our effective efforts by chipping in today or by joining our fight as a monthly sustaining member of MPP.
