BIP47 allows you to send bitcoin on chain using static payment code (1 per person) and each time you send to the payment code it’ll generate a fresh Bitcoin address so that you can send repeat payments to sn individual without reusing addresses or ever asking them to send you a new address. The proper backup solution is really needed on Android.

One of the reasons I really like iOS is being able to back the entire device in a full encrypted backup to restore on any other iPhone.

iCloud integrating E2EE was really nice to see as well.

Their increasing support for PWAs makes me less concerned than I used to be about App Store walled gardens.

Yup, the article mentions this tradeoff at the end. As you say, it's still significantly better than using something like WoS who can see your transactions AND steal your funds.
