As an idea: Citizenship as a service may fix that. Rather than birth right citizenship, what if it was tied to paying taxes? If you believe your interests were being served, then you pay taxes. If not, no tax bill.
This would make the government much more responsive to its citizens. If it strays far from where the center is, it goes broke.

Sure. Given that renting, leasing or purchasing a member of Congress is illegal and unethical, why is it legal for a member of Congress to receive any income, renummeration or gift other than the salary and benefits provided directly by United States Government?
