It was amazing because these were pages for things like your character stats, etc., so you could build other tools to easily consume the data and make mash-ups. It was so amazing!

Last night, I learned that American Toads can live as long as 30-40 years in captivity, and I can’t stop thinking about this. Thanks for the info, nostr:npub146j57n44hv6pa7gksxght9w06whupmecarl9mc3n8kxj7kqfe4csfycu5s!

I miss doing cool things with XHTML and XSLT.

nostr:npub19yvw53sm8xn9xxry4vtg90vca6fhynnkdurlspq84fv60a8qac2stx8wl8 Admittedly, I’m doing some reading-between-the-lines, but IMO, it’s implied:
“The federation architecture allows anyone to host a BGS, though it’s a fairly resource-demanding service. In all likelihood, there may be a few large full-network providers, and then a long tail of partial-network providers. Small bespoke BGSs could also service tightly or well-defined slices of the network, like a specific new application or a small community.”

nostr:npub19yvw53sm8xn9xxry4vtg90vca6fhynnkdurlspq84fv60a8qac2stx8wl8 The BGSs are called “Big Graph Services.” In name alone, this implies they’re too big for individuals to run. The protocol docs go into more detail about how BGSs work: https://atproto.com/guides/overview
In that doc, they have this interesting sentence: “As with Web search engines, users are free to select their aggregators.”
They want to build a “marketplace of algorithms:” https://blueskyweb.xyz/blog/3-30-2023-algorithmic-choice

I think “Subspace Rhapsody” beats out Buffy’s “Once More, With Feeling” & Scrubs’s “My Musical” as my favorite musical episode.
The solos for Celia Rose Gooding (Uhura) & Christina Chong (La'an) were amazing!
I love how they didn’t go too silly. They tied it into the character arcs & used it for storytelling.
The Klingon number was over-the-top, though. Klingons singing is fine, but style-wise, it should’ve been more in-character.
