True AI, when we achieve it (and we will), will free humans to live however we want (after a period of extreme and probably violent upheaval). The capitalist business model becomes impossible when nobody is earning money to buy stuff. AI is intrinsically destructive to a tiered society, so you'll find those who are holding power now will fight its development as hard as they can.

Whatever about Open, it's certainly not AI. Until we understand what motivation/drive is and can codify it, it's just fancy information coding, cross-indexing and retrieval.
