Two thoughts. Premise, normal users aren’t switching to another client:
(1) I survived 6 months because the Nostr is a great place to get memes. My wife requires 8 decent memes per day. Hashtag following ftw.
(2) Account discovery is a pain. Thanks to some analysis from our intern nostr:npub17plqkxhsv66g8quxxc9p5t9mxazzn20m426exqnl8lxnh5a4cdns7jezx0 , according to opt-in AppStore analytics one of the biggest issues with Damus is user retention. 99% of people stop using damus after 6 months.
In the next version we will be looking at ways to get mores users to that “ah ha” moment that gets them to stick around like all of us addicts.
Ideas welcome! Notifications is obviously a big one, but maybe we could make it easier to get people their first sats.
