I love listening to nostr:npub1gdu7w6l6w65qhrdeaf6eyywepwe7v7ezqtugsrxy7hl7ypjsvxksd76nak , economics just makes sense when you listen to him.
An idea that I took away from listening to him the other day when I was out cycling is that in a fiat economy , people are forced to have two jobs :
1. Their actual job
2. Their second job as an "investor" , being forced to play in a casino , just so that they can combat inflation , which is to say , just so that they can maintain the value of the work that they have already done.
Quite clearly insane when you consider that even people in medieval times had the ability to sell shit for gold coins which they would hold their value for as long as you needed them to.
IN THE MIDDLE AGES .
Fiat really was a step backwards in this sense
