I wrote this 9 years ago. I only feel more so the way I felt then, I think personally my accuracy in it as to what was to come was stunning. May be not 100% but high 90s. As to the election results of 2014 they were perfect.

As a #prepper, also called a #modernsurvivalist I agree with this.
So, what to do.
First, start saving a little extra food. Even if all you do is buy one extra can of veggies or bag of rice when you shop, you are getting that much better.
Next #garden if you can only do a small pot then grow some herbs.
Learn to preserve food. Fermentation, canning, dehydrating are all simple and easy.
Learn how to cook from scratch one new thing. Try to make it something you have in your food storage.

EMS is a dangerous low paying job. Too often when they ask for more funds to improve pay and get safer equipment they get told “we can’t, you lost money last year”.
EMS is the only first responders expected to turn a profit.
Punished when they don’t. And in many cases not treated as first responders.
Hoping for a fast and complete recovery of all involved.
