Compiling your own software is definitely a good skill to have. I just started playing around with doing it, and most of the time it isn't too difficult.
To be fair, I don't consider myself a bitcoiner. Mostly because I actively avoid being part of groups.
I do share a lot of values and interests with them though. FWIW.
It makes me sad I can't get any of my friends to try Nostr. Most of them are Eth people though so I'm not exactly surprised.

OpenBSD has been fun the last few days. One of my favorite things about it is most of the tools are simple and well documented. Even the privilege elevation tool doas, has a simple syntax.
Especially when compared with alternatives like SUDO.
