I don't believe any guides exist. It's all been trial by fire over the past two months.

I'll say that it's good to have a mix of both paid and free relays, and if spam is an issue you can always turn read off on them. And even some clients operate this way, allowing for the global feeds to be only populated by paid relays.

Give it a couple weeks, see if more people join. If not, no big deal. Most of this crowd are NPCs anyway. Would be cool to get critical mass and get a beachhead established, though.
