Think geohash and nostr could turn bitchat into both offline chat and a signal alternative?
Altcoins have no unique qualities left: BTC can now do it all. This has yet to be priced in.
RGB is live on mainnet (v0.12 from LNP-BP / nostr:nprofile1qqsgam50tgqzu5e7n70lau2vwy76gjwz8at0gs270x242gr45qk36dcpz4mhxue69uhk2er9dchxummnw3ezumrpdejqz9rhwden5te0wfjkccte9ejxzmt4wvhxjmcpp4mhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mqmr0606), all without any soft forks. BTC now has:
- Smart contracts via AluVM and Contractum
- Tokens with single-use seals
- Privacy from client-side validation
It works on L1 and L2 (lightning network and ark), which means instant DEX trades.
RGB v0.12 sets up stuff like:
- Prime for huge off-chain scaling to handle global loads
- Storm for incentivized privacy-focused distributed storage and messaging
- Prometheus for trustless high-performance computing including neural nets. This will change decentralized computing down the line.
Unlike old privacy tech like CoinJoin or Tornado Cash, RGB avoids central choke points with no coordinators or pools to attack. It beats Cashu too: no custodial mints as intermediaries. RGB is fully non-custodial and trust-minimized.
Everyone has been sleeping on this. It's just not priced in.
Think there are any interesting ways to combine rgb and nostr? I know they had a presentation on DIDs using their tech a few years back too...
https://youtu.be/gGPLYfWOb_8 not sure how relevant it is now though.
What's your favourite mobile LN wallet these days? Especially one with great UX.
Meant to link the video! https://youtu.be/Q34QcP2GMMU
RGB. Basically think of anything a shitcoin could do from scaling to privacy to tokens and smart contracts, and then give all the powers to bitcoin without a single soft fork, new op code, or any drive chains controversy. The final spec, v0.12 (its essentially an ossified spec) is out.
It works on L1 and L2.
Here you go: https://youtu.be/Q34QcP2GMMU
It's rgb which works on both L1 and L2 (ark and lightning). Version 0.12 just launched (the production spec, not to be confused with bitfinex's attempt to hijack the project with v0.11.1) and paves the way for zk on bitcoin and massive scaling via prime. All of this tech works via client side validation and single use seals.
And it requires no fork!
Does sparrow wallet offer a way to verify ownership of change addresses before sending a transaction?
You never seem to mention rgb or the lnpbp guys. Why is that? Are you aware that v0.12 was just released and has zk built in? It's production ready now, too.
Which client?
