In it for the freedom.

Yes, this is a good point. As they say, they will be swapped at the edges by a few nodes. Not sure about the adoption otherwise, among institutions, let alone the plebs. Taro (or maybe CMYK, which was the working title early on, a play on the fact that it ripped off RGB) has been Lightning Labs main focus for a while now. Lightning Labs, whose implementation is LND makes up between 80% to 87% of network nodes, so at least the overwhelming majority of the network will be quite compatible with Taro.

Much of the network has been unhappy with Lightning Lab's priorities of dollarizing the undollar-ed with Taro, rather than focusing on Bolt 12 and interesting privacy maneuvers of splicing being developed with Blockstream's implementation of C-lightning.

It's funny, because I have a soft spot for fluffypony and Monero, and mixed feelings for Taro. But I still like asset issuance on Bitcoin's Lightning Network more than asset issuance on a sidechain of Monero.

The prophecy will be fulfilled...

RGB VS CMYK

(CMYK was apparently an early working title later changed to Taro, a play on RGB due to also being a color scheme)

Mines down too, are the people in charge of running ours on a date?

I'm noticing my nip05 from nostrplebs is red. Also nostrplebs.com is down. Most likely related.

Everybody's learning how. ๐Ÿ„โ€โ™‚๏ธ

Well 1k out of 800k is just 25 cents out of $200, I suppose. Its funny, because with Lightning, you pay more based on how much you send, onchain might be cheaper, when sending higher amounts.

Of course it's more expensive when you are withdrawing more... I never did more than 100k with them I think I paid 25 sats though.

No judgments, definitely surprised it costs that much then. That's muun fake LN prices. Or maybe phoenix open up a channel for each transaction prices. Maybe the network is having some trouble today. I definitely have made some pretty cheap WoS to SN transactions.

Side note, it is now very easy to start your own coordinator using this https://www.nobsbitcoin.com/coinjoin-plugin-btcpay-server/ and unlike before, the coins are mixed with all other coordinators, so you won't have low anonymity set. When doing your own, the default fees go to HRF&Opensats. I WOULD RECOMMEND LEAVING THIS. Alexey is having problems due to the fact that he PROFITTED from his privacy tools. FYI.

Even the security tools on Ethereum (Tornado Cash) are a fractal; embody the same issues of the platform they are a part of.

I do wish him the best though. He's been in jail since August due to being a 'flight risk.' His next hearing is in April.

You know, I tried to do that, there was this thing that said it would be the second event after my profile info... but it wasn't, and I couldn't find the next page button or something to look more forward.

Jeeze. No way a spa has good enough data protection practices to collect protect that information. But I wonder if it's to discourage guests from being... creepy to the staff.

I remember the first time I heard this! I was on E in a car with some friends. Oof.

I was talking smack about Taro on Twitter a while back and a bot just today gave me a link to a Taro testnet wallet. It's, alright, it's not like... a16z money, (aka print-your-own-money) but it's alright, I mean, it's just a very simple front end.

Not sure what's going on behind the scenes, whether it's a Testnet Bitcoin blockchain with Testnet Bitcoin in a Testnet multisig lightning channels with Testnet assets swapped... you get the idea, or just nothing going on behind the scenes besides some code meant to emulate that. I guess if it's the first one, then it's basically ready for prime time. Cool.
