I'm not Canadian, though I assume Canada has some commonalities with US Law given our common roots. Rather than sitting around waiting for the police to act, I'd start exploring other options. I thought I throw out a few legal ones to explore, while refraining from fedposting.
Does Canada allow defenses based on the unlawfulness of an order in cases of alleged contempt. Is that the underlying issue? Are the police afraid he'll mount a successful defense if they charge contempt? Can a private citizen enforce contempt if the government won't, e.g. is civil contempt available to a business owner or patron? Does res judicata or collateral estoppel apply in such cases?

A fren passed a while back. I did the estate work and then his father gave me an Asus L406M he owned. It's not fancy, but I installed arch on it, stuck it on the return of my desk, and use it as a terminal when I don't have my main PC booted. It boots quick, and comes in handy when I need it.
