The opposite of globalist.

Have spent the past four hours or so amid thousands at Heathrow T5 and, pleasingly, could probably count the number of humans wearing masks on my fingers.

Shame then that the airlines are codifying this bollocks by advising passengers during recorded safety briefs to remove face coverings before donning oxygen masks. Good grief.

Some good news from France with the latest wind project to be defeated.

There is no greater visible symbol of our civilizational malaise than these wasteful embarrassments despoiling both land and sea. Painful to see countries competing to do less with more.

At least French nuclear has (so far) withstood the onslaught of the misanthropes.

This will probably turn out to be some “environmental” protest; regardless, whomever did it should be hung from the toenails until dead.

I was only there with the family last month, and have some lovely photos of the kids hugging the tree. It’s been a thing for generations.

I mean yes, the algorithms on other socials are the devil, but sometimes I do enjoy their “shot, chaser” artistry.

“First, these numbers prove, yet again, that the alt-energy sector continues to be fueled by corporate welfare. For years, advocates for wind and solar energy have claimed that their schemes are cheaper than traditional forms of electricity generation. Last year, John Kerry, the Biden administration’s climate envoy, claimed that “Solar and wind are less expensive than coal or oil or gas. They just are less expensive.” If that were true, and solar energy is too cheap to meter, then the industry shouldn’t need tax credits.

But thanks to climate corporatism, some of America’s biggest corporations, including NextEra Energy and MidAmerica Energy, a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, are collecting billions of dollars in tax credits and they stand to collect untold billions more in the coming years thanks to the IRA.

Second, it’s evident that President Joe Biden and members of his administration misled the American public about the cost of the IRA. On August 22, 2022, Biden gave a speech at the White House during which he said, “The Inflation Reduction Act invests $369 billion to take the most aggressive action ever — ever, ever, ever — in confronting the climate crisis and strengthening our economic — our energy security.” Biden’s defenders might argue that the president didn’t know exactly how much the IRA would cost taxpayers. But ignorance is no excuse. (Nor is old age.)

Third, this solar corporate welfare could add hundreds of billions of dollars to the national debt at the very time we cannot afford more debt. On Monday, the national debt surpassed $33 trillion, a milestone that the New York Times noted provides “a stark reminder of the country’s shaky fiscal trajectory.”

Nice to see another reader of Bryce on #Nostr.

But mostly I’m just writing to congratulate you on your profile banner image, a fine example of the rusting windmill hellscape genre.

Yep. Best societal outcomes from strong families and community; best individual outcomes through health, time and wealth. All under attack. Relentless.

I have no useful links but wish you luck, one of the few sci-fi series I will definitely re-read. All three are fantastic.

I was talking with a friend about the London ULEZ thing (for the unfamiliar, London is now heavily charging drivers of older cars across large swathes of the capital).

Ostensibly this is for emissions, but this is clearly bollocks as it’s driving older but small and efficient vehicles off the road. Instead it’s to force people into newer vehicles which, EV or not, are all networked.

Hold onto the old “analogue” clunkers for as long as possible. nostr:note1smf40m7pjqv9ycv5lq8hsxk5ewjtvzndgfq5r3lncgctxrylp7ksv267cd

They’re going to go hard on KYC in all aspects of public (then formerly private) life until it’s easy to roll the serfs into social credit.

Guy Swann good on this stuff. Keep building up the alternate networks. Tangential podcast topic but same themes near the end:

Thanks - going to have to get my head around Nostr Wallet Connect it seems!

Thanks for the response - is that a site (can’t resolve it) or client?

Are the bulk of you zappers using Zapplepay, a non-Damus client (on Apple), profile zaps, or other?

It’s already pay-to-play if you want any engagement.

Honestly I thought I’d stick with it, but there’s no point.
