it's good to go through it now 😏 you got this!
WELCOME BACK! #[0]
please stick around this time 🥹☺️🥰
Damus seems to have support for this but is disabled. Note sure what performance impact it would have.
https://github.com/damus-io/damus/blob/master/damus/Nostr/NostrEvent.swift#L100
should be a togglable option imo
exactly. right now WoS and Nostr users are mainly just bitcoin nerds anyways, we're fine with it. it's better to annoy us, than the normies who don't know any better
Nostr really brought Wallet of Satoshi down. Their infra is crying for help!
It's fine, this is a good problem to have, and it's good we encounter this now. Imagine 1000x this traffic under mass adoption! 👀
this is a really good approach. actually for the simple clients (the ones i imagine will onboard the masses who shouldn't care how nostr works internally), should follow a similar architecture. really good work
ahhhhh so nostrgram indexes them in a middle layer, and client fetches from nostrgram?
even this is good though actually, if nostrgram is shielding its' users from this
imo, no client should ever show a message that isn't sig verified. but in nostrgram's case: it fits my ask, considering it has a middleware layer ☺️
clients shouldn't be responsible for this; even for spam filtering, i get it; however, that extra layer of protection would be glorious
are nostr clients doing some type of signature verification for messages received from relays?
reason i ask; if a popular relay is hacked: what is to prevent an attacker from flooding that relay's subscribers with counterfeit messages?
WoS implementing zaps just accelerated it 10x immediately
1k sats gift, be quick:
there is no central server for all the messages you see here. there are many (relays).
anyone can own a relay. anyone can connect to any relay.
every interaction here is a "message". posts, profile edits, likes, follows, etc.
relays and clients adopt a standard (nostr NIPs), to aggregate and present those messages in a way we can visualize.
that is it!
good plan! it's fun!
#[0] is goated for adding zap support
use a paid relay 🥳
