Revelation and reason are not competing sources of knowledge. "Reason is, itself, a revelation." - Van Til

I agree with your opposition to his pacificism. There is a time for peace, and a time for war. Open borders is also a bit utopian in the current world--or downright masochistic following Sheldon Richman's argument ("flood the system, let it burn"). But I also see the logic of that question as ultimately one of private property rights and freedom of association.

I am willing to say I disagree with him on these matters but I would not go so far as to call him "profoundly evil" and/or "dangerous."

Full disclosure: I know him personally, have since our college days, and he is far from evil or dangerous. He's brilliant, kind, and hilarious, even if we disagree on a few matters here and there.

She couldn't live by her own ideals. The epistemological basis of her worldview is flawed (then again, so also is Rothbard's). Completely misrepresented Christianity. A childish belief that big business hated regulation. Rationalism is a castle built on sand. Etc.

But, that said, I greatly enjoyed Atlas Shrugged (though Raimondo [and Kinsella] note striking similarities with the earlier writings of Garet Garret - "Who is Henry Galt?"), and quote from it often. I read The Fountainhead as well, and though it had some decent character development and good things to say about real architecture and (I suppose) "authenticity," ultimately I found its moral message ridiculous and futile.

Ayn Rand was fun to read, but ultimately, silly.

Enjoy!

I don't see that as a problem provided it isn't used as a justification for coerced income redistribution. He's a Chrsitian, so is Ron Paul, so am I.

I haven't said "well, you can't be too safe" since about March of 2020.

Agree. That essay is as good, IMO, as his The Weight of Glory.
