Ending a relationship like that is a tremendous show of faith. May the Lord bless and keep you 🙏

My favourite question people ask is "what would you do if you won the lottery?". I always say I wouldn't want to win it.
All of the upsides can't outweigh what it will do to your relationships, and I feel there's something corrupting about money (or, at least, the love of it), especially to those who are used to having little.
"For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?"
Reminds me of this, which is usually said in my local church as an invitation to Holy Communion:
"Come to this table, not because you must but because you may, not because you are strong, but because you are weak.
Come, not because any goodness of your own gives you a right to come, but because you need mercy and help.
Come, because you love the Lord a little and would like to love him more.
Come, because he loved you and gave himself for you.
Come and meet the risen Christ, for we are his Body"

Can't you see? They just like you unwashed plebs, they too are struggling on their £40k+ (no doubt way more) salaries.

This is why I hate the tech industry in this country. Too many smug, well-to-do urbanites acting like they in any way represent the wider population outside their little bubble

Call me a dreamer.
I suppose I hope for people to wake up and resist what's happening before it's too late.
Then again, that time might've already come to pass. Politicians all across the continent seem pretty keen on not solving the problem at all costs; it keeps their donors happy with new waves of cheap migrant/"refugee" labour.
We are inviting them into the Promised Land for a quick buck, at the cost of our very identity and culture.
Surely, it can't go on like this forever. That's what I keep telling myself anyway
