Pensava que a quantidade de pessoas nessa situação (depender de programas que rodam somente no Windows) seria bem menor. Também pensava que TODOS os desenvolvedores do mundo usavam o Linux. Também pensava que as pessoas se importavam com privacidade (código open source). Ou seja, pensava que o Linux iria ultrapassar o Windows em poucos anos. Sim, eu pensava isso 😢

Sim, existe. Mas não acredito que seja por limitações de segurança no ambiente mobile.
O projeto Chromium (de onde se derivam a maioria dos browsers por aí) é mantido por desenvolvedores pagos pela Google. Como não é de interesse da Google oferecer suporte a isso (pois seria concorrente da loja Play), isso fica para terceiros (onde o processo é mais lento). Mas acredito que seja só questão de tempo para que o suporte apareça em todos os browsers mobile.
