Building on #NOSTR Applying #AI in #neuroscience | Satcom - social layer for internet https://satcom.app/ | W3 - URL shortener https://w3.do

Done. Brought back with desktop view. But note that kiwi is focused on mobile currently, and I have other plans for desktop view in the future.

nostr:npub1alpha9l6f7kk08jxfdaxrpqqnd7vwcz6e6cvtattgexjhxr2vrcqk86dsn - when I post a note to a community, I consistently get the error "note failed to post" - but the note posts (posting from nostr.kiwi, validating in Amethyst)

Pushing a new version soon.

My full time job is in ML. Machine learning engineer since 2014.

Why you think so? What’s coming?

Currently there are long form tagged with “a” tags too.

Yes, support all currently and future nostr content types is necessary

nostr:npub1gcxzte5zlkncx26j68ez60fzkvtkm9e0vrwdcvsjakxf9mu9qewqlfnj5z So here's an idea:

Instead of tagging a post with an 'a' tag to request that it goes into a community, the user publishes a new event that contains (stringified in the content field) the event he wants to post into the community, like how reposts work. This community post event would contain 'a' tags of all the communities the user wants to post into, as well as the 'e' and 'k' tags for the stringified event (just like kind 4550). For the sake of discussion, we can call this a "kind 4549 post request"

When mods create a 4550 post approval event, they can just copy the content string of 4549 post request event. All the tags are the same, so the person who created the request can still get notified that the post was approved.

If a user only wants his post to show up in communities, he creates whatever kind of event but does not publish that event directly — rather it gets posted as the content of a new 4549 event

If the user wants the post to show up in the main feed as well, he can publish the original event as well.

I like this solution it means event existing event kind can be posted into a community, not just text notes. (like long form, media, ect.) Communities would just have a modqueue of 4549 events.

The kind 1 post as the first post, as nostr:npub1gcxzte5zlkncx26j68ez60fzkvtkm9e0vrwdcvsjakxf9mu9qewqlfnj5z pointed out exactly, it appears everywhere so people I follow I can see everything they post.

This is a design feature, not a bug. Of cause like all things, there’s always different school of thoughts, you can’t make everyone happy.

For this “4549” event it can be the exact same thing just like the existing kind 1 with “a” tag, but it’s a community only post. This could work.

We need a way for users to control whether community posts show up in the main feed nostr:note13hr0j93760sueknc3rgvpu6f0qy6yyusasvfrdssp7c3jmnmg8wssww62n

For main feed, I’m showing a list of followed communities. Just like a list of users you following.

I haven’t read the long thread.

One small step for habla.

Giant leap for nostr. nostr:note1wecyc8ahzyr3hgn5m7ztrp73kg7vtenca4ph82rsp0hl30lmh0ksk07sqy

nostr:npub180cvv07tjdrrgpa0j7j7tmnyl2yr6yr7l8j4s3evf6u64th6gkwsyjh6w6 created Nostr. He’s been working full time at nostr:npub1m0ney2gz8r4przevwl6hmsr63m9ckcy3skllakl4mqemnc65pwfsv4dqkw almost since the inception of the company (2019). If I’m not mistaken Nostr first commit is end of 2020.

We enabled and supported him (financially and otherwise) working on the protocol, AND a bunch of other closed/open source projects for ZEBEDEE.

Incredible developers like nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s, nostr:npub1a8jzweysxa9qmtmht874736aalm0lwdsl306nrys9d05ktlrhw3qcr5pj4, yourself, nostr:npub1qqqqqqyz0la2jjl752yv8h7wgs3v098mh9nztd4nr6gynaef6uqqt0n47m and MANY others (sorry I didn’t tag everyone) have worked tirelessly on the protocol too and have taken Nostr to the next level!

My talk at Bitcoin Park was about CUBES - building blocks of technologies. And how innovative developers take CUBES built by others and take it further than thought possible before.

That’s what you have done to Nostr.

We have all taken nostr:npub180cvv07tjdrrgpa0j7j7tmnyl2yr6yr7l8j4s3evf6u64th6gkwsyjh6w6s invention and taken it to next level, TOGETHER.

Similarly, if it wasn’t for everyone’s efforts on LNURL, I wouldn’t have built Lightning Addresses. If Lightning Addresses weren’t widespread, there would not have been Zaps the same way they are today (for the record I’m sure nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s would have built it some other innovative way ⚡️)

This is about the impact of compounding technologies.

ZEBEDEE helped enable it and make it happen.

Hey. Thanks for your work and vision to make lightning happen.

Don’t know how to code and but want to?

You got go start some where.

Kiwi is a PWA, “add to Home Screen” and experience it like a native app.

Next major release will further boost performance.

IMO contact list is for contacts. Using for multiple purpose is like writing one function to handle both login and fetch events.

Gm, friends. A few nostr thoughts this morning.

I’m not particularly technical and definitely not a developer, so when I see people very bullish on #nostr I can’t tell if it’s justified or not. I’m certainly excited about it, and there seems to be a lot of development on the protocol, but I have no frame of reference. Were/are bluesky or mastodon or scuttlebutt the same in terms of user enthusiasm, development activity, etc.?

If you were going to find users overly excited about a protocol, wouldn’t you find them on the protocol? And if so, how much stock can you put in that?

An even bigger question that I can’t answer because of my lack of technical knowledge is, can the protocol scale? Are there limitations that I can’t see and just aren’t getting talked about bc everyone around here is pro-nostr?

At this point I’d consider myself enthusiastically hopeful.

But reading this post from nostr:npub1wmr34t36fy03m8hvgl96zl3znndyzyaqhwmwdtshwmtkg03fetaqhjg240 about why he’s switched all his future development efforts to Nostr makes me think there is really something valuable here and that Nostr really has tremendous potential.

For a developer to *switch* to Nostr after spending so much time thinking about social media, how to fix it, and building on another protocol, seems to me like pure signal.

From the post:

“Anybody who joins Nostr will quickly see that its early adopter community has a very different set of values and social norms from Scuttlebutt’s. It’s full of bitcoin bros (or as they like to call themselves, “maximalists”). But the thing is, I was never building tools just for solarpunk anarchists. I was building tools where a multitude of communities could each establish their own self-governing commons. By definition those tools will include many communities which are not mine, or where I wouldn’t feel welcome.”

I feel hopeful in the same way I did when I first learned about bitcoin.

Thank you

I agree with you and did the same as nostr:npub1wmr34t36fy03m8hvgl96zl3znndyzyaqhwmwdtshwmtkg03fetaqhjg240

My past 2 years has been building on Cardano. I built https://meshjs.dev, a SDK to enable any developers to build dApps.

I noticed nostr only about a month ago, intrigued, now building https://nostr.kiwi, focused on communities and list, and contributing to NDK React library.

This community is very talented.

Hey nostr:npub1zuuajd7u3sx8xu92yav9jwxpr839cs0kc3q6t56vd5u9q033xmhsk6c2uc , is there a way to add a cover image to the bookmarks list? Been discussing some categorization opportunities for content creators with nostr:npub107jk7htfv243u0x5ynn43scq9wrxtaasmrwwa8lfu2ydwag6cx2quqncxg and it would be amazing if nostr:npub1048qg5p6kfnpth2l98kq3dffg097tutm4npsz2exygx25ge2k9xqf5x3nf (or any other platform) user could create bookmarks lists with their choice of articles - say, all “Guides” articles or “Bitcoin” articles - and add a cover image to the list. That way the clients who choose to support this will be able to display these will have the lists beautifully decorated with an image. nostr:npub1yzvxlwp7wawed5vgefwfmugvumtp8c8t0etk3g8sky4n0ndvyxesnxrf8q does something like this, but they add a cover image on their own platform, and I believe it would be much better to have this feature as a native Nostr event just like lists are.

What do you think?

Great suggestions by nostr:npub1gzuushllat7pet0ccv9yuhygvc8ldeyhrgxuwg744dn5khnpk3gs3ea5ds

I’m also working on a list of tags. On nostr.kiwi, we have a list of followed communities.

Need something that can be reuse for list of notes, tags, communities, people, and future add ons.

Nostr has…

Superb developers.

Top notch video producers.

And very incredible designers. nostr:note1td9p8uh5vujq3mfa9w7an3yfh3gyzr5002m8rv2d652m7gjxhhes44yjk0
