Had mine “start” at 11. It took a long time to get it right. But by 13, he was doing a really good job. I’d say let him do spot mows until he figures out how to overlap correctly. By the end of summer he might be doing good enough for a whole mow. I just remember always having to go back out and polish it up a bit.

As someone who works in between the real estate and construction industry, I agree with you. I’ve found that it doesn’t have to be crazy good looking, just maintained and fertilizer applied regularly… although it’s a plus if the grass is of one variety lol.
