benefits of an option type. I think there are some libs in go that could give you an option-like type but using nil has bit me so many times when doing grpc shit in go. also pointers to scalar values is fucking horrendous in go.
yep. it's cool but thinking in pure functions gets tough. haven't built anything of substance with it but I have friends that swear by it
just wait. once you use true enums in another language and realize nil is a shitcoin, you'll understand what rust brings to the table
oh that's disappointing. the go type system is complete shit for anything of medium complexity. rust has such a good type system and is able to model so much that go cannot.
