So, Daniel van Strien was the specific villain in this HuggingFace scraping of Bluesky Data without consent from users...He had the audacity to profess surprise when Bluesky users objected to his data scraping, and supposedly got rid of the data as an act of 'good faith' for now. However, he likely is simply laundering this data to cover tracks for future usage. That is purely conjecture on my part, because I have little faith in techbros.

Ugh, AI Research is so cursed; apparently someone made a Dataset of One Million Bluesky Posts (for HuggingFace), and it's highly searchable with all manner of content represented within it. It's worrying how easy it is to have one's data hoovered up without permission and used to create a dataset for LLM Training.

I am gradually transforming into a Luddite who will go on the offensive and poison any data I share to prevent it from being used.

I just got Pop!_OS all configured, and then I discovered Bazzite as several Linux users have mentioned that distro. ROFL, I already feel the urge to jump to Bazzite!

However, my data plan cannot support the huge amount of downloads that would follow. I'll give Pop!_OS another month before deciding if making the jump to Bazzite is worth it.

#Today I'm going to pick up my glasses...I got my bus pass activated, I know the approximate time that I need start walking to the bus stop, sunscreen for the walk home applied. I've picked out a metal music playlist on Tidal for my journey back home. Everything but my nerves are ready for this little journey.
