Bo Hines, executive director of the Presidential Digital Asset Advisory Committee, said in an interview that the United States could use the proceeds from its gold reserves to buy more Bitcoin.
According to Hines, this move could be a budget-neutral way to increase the country's Bitcoin reserves.
Hines mentioned the Bitcoin Act of 2025, proposed by Senator Cynthia Lummis of Wyoming, which advocates that the United States acquire 1 million Bitcoins within five years, accounting for about 5% of the total supply of $BTC. The acquisition will be financed by selling gold held by the Federal Reserve.
And the idea of reserving ETH, XRP, ADA and SSOL is cited in the article.
In general, it is a proposal to sell gold to buy BTC, but it is just an idea, and it is still early to see whether it can be implemented.
