lol yeah, anyone who gets on YouTube and just rakes in cash for doing extremely mundane things are the luckiest mfers in the world
Watched this guy on Youtube eat like a thousand packets of poprocks and it seems obligatory that this is not advised
That's pretty wild too lol I went over to Iris and logged in with your public key and I felt like I was seeing the world through someone else's eyes
Yeah, I've been hosting my own for a while in order to make myself immune to tyrannical admins, but it looks like I might have found another way to post and not be silenced
One of my biggest fears on Mastodon is saying the wrong thing, or having a bad day, and ending up with a large majority of the actual active instances silencing or blocking me, to the point where I really AM talking to no one, and that could happen to anyone on the fediverse. Like, even if you don't have anything that you want to share with the world, that's a real shitty thing to even consider as a possibility of happening
that's freakin wild, I can change how my username is displayed on Damus and it's immediately reflected on Strudel
and man, am I tired of asking permission
I actually have that exact experience. I was on a Mastodon server for years, at least 4, and I had just one grievance where I went a little out of control and told someone to go fuck themselves, and because the admin and his mod team were having a bad day, or didn't like me ... I lost everything. It made/inspired me to launch my own Mastodon server, but after exploring Nostr for a little bit now, I'm starting to wonder if paying for a Mastodon server is really the best option
I just read someone talking about Mastodon in a light I hadn't really considered. The whole platform and protocol is built on this idea of decentralization, but it's built as if there are thousands of small Twitter connected to each other.
So ... actually, Mastodon is many centralized servers talking to each other
DANG that looks good as F#CK

Hey, welcome! I came into Nostr with pretty much the same assumptions and decided to also check it out for myself. Over the years I've learned that sometimes people's opinions are correct, but other times, it's best to actually look into things yourself, and in this instance, I'm glad I did.
I'm also not too huge into bitcoin, but I've been all over crypto for years, ETH, BTC, even made a ton of NFTs before Opensea killed royalties lol
haha jesus
I know I've had some serious arachnophobia most of my life, been trying to get over it by not killing all spiders immediately and trying to actually learn about them
That’s what I was thinking, someone offline thought it was a recluse but I think the necrosis spiders are bigger
Identify this spider for me Nostr lol
With a million id probably invest most of it and pay off some debts with the rest, and then keep a spending cash cushion on my bank account
I’ve got a big #asknostr!
We’re looking for a cool intro song for our new rebrand “rebooting money.” Where my #nostr musicians at?
nostr:npub1aeh2zw4elewy5682lxc6xnlqzjnxksq303gwu2npfaxd49vmde6qcq4nwx likes rock. I like that too, or even like a social network soundtrack/trent reznor vibe. Anyway, will pay sats for a good, short intro instrumental track! (And advertise the fact that YOU made it 😉)
If I’m being honest, would love something ASAP (recording the first NEW pod ep this upcoming Friday)
Thoughts? nostr:npub1yfg0d955c2jrj2080ew7pa4xrtj7x7s7umt28wh0zurwmxgpyj9shwv6vg nostr:npub1eequz6v23szzyx9utphsh8kg6kll50wte6sfh4vah8gdjtplcz6qg7at9s
Feel free to DM

Hard for me to link right now but I might have some stuff on wavlake you’d like, depends on how you feel about electro/retro/darksynth
Hey nostr:npub17zk2weur62r0t4endvfg3z84muljn8s8r9e74up72gqfrh8rxphqlqm5zy couple things. i saw you did your NIP-05 verification (very nice). not sure if this still happens but a while back when you switched between clients sometimes info wouldnt carry over. turned out that if the relays didnt match it looked like stuff was 'missing' once you picked a solid relay list you can add some to your NIP-05 so they follow the account.
also if you still have a twitter account you can use this tool https://connect.nos.social/ it will crosspost your Nostr notes to it. it uses an njump format so its a little different https://nostr.at/ but it will populate in twitter hashtags.
hope you are good and keep up the great work
Alright cool, I guess by adding things to my NIP you mean I can just add it to my config on GitHub?
I think it acts as both an incentive and a way for people to show some support for things they like to see, an interesting concept at least. Imagine if hitting the like button on Twitter gave people 10 cents
