The US government made it illegal to own gold during the Great Depression, for instance.
In Bitcoin's relatively short life, even China has tried (and failed) to ban it like five times now.

The Flipper Zero is broadcasting a WiFi network with the same SSID as the real train WiFi. My device connects to it instead of the real network. My "evil twin" network shows a login page asking for Google email and password. Anything entered is saved on the Flipper and shows on the screen.
A Pineapple can run much more advanced attack but it's also a dedicated router. A working evil portal attack can run off a simple Flipper with the WiFi board.

Yeah this is an evil twin that serves up a captive portal with a phishing page in it.
People very often fall for these and if any skiddie with a Flipper can do it you know it's crazy easy.
VPN is always a good idea but it wouldn't protect against an evil portal attack.
Six people put in real account details over the space of half an hour. No 2FA either.
We're all tech savvy here but normies get rekt. I'm writing about it in the hope plebs spread the word to their normie friends and family.
Most people just blindly trust captive portals and almost every captive portal uses plain HTTP.
