If you've always wanted to contribute to #OpenStreetMap but were always overwhelmed by the GIS nature of editing, give https://streetcomplete.app/ a try. It lets you improve the map around you by answering simple questions (or on some phones using lasers to measure things?!). As a "normal" OSM contributor I still use it for random mapping or to quickly make a small change while I'm nearby - instead of making a note and dealing with it later. It also keeps getting new tasks, so you're never done.
nostr:npub1jm8as7swg4zrvxmy7cjnl6t7nw3t90n2qe4fymj2cqcaakmxmq2s6hsfer I use it ("expert edition") to also leave notes for more complex things, usually missing objects. When I was at a park on vacation, I did that and paired it with images and a GPS trace, and added the things I marked later.
This is by far the most uncomfortable way to consume #XML (and I'm pretty sure it's on purpose).
Could have just made it like the inspector.

My alt account specifically for non-FOSS stuff is now bound by #Fosstodon's rules?! That seems kinda stupid, and defeats the point of me having an alt account...
I think my wifi chip is fried. I'm getting 1mb/s link speed on 2.4ghz and 6mb/s link speed on 5ghz and this only started happening today. I'm getting 425mb/s link speed over USB from my phone tethering internet, which isn't what I'm supposed to be getting by at least 200, but it's better than what I have without it.
It's not a router issue as the rest of the network is working flawlessly -- including my phone, which is connected to wifi!
#Matrix's biggest flaw, by far, is the DAG/event graph. It's required to be fully intact at all times, which I do see they're trying to work around with sliding sync, but that's simply not enough. That graph deserves to be broken, old state should be completely deletable, old messages should be too, and STORAGE SPACE SHOULD BE SAVABLE.

If you want you can use the Osm edition site https://mapcomplete.osm.be to link your pictures to the nodes updated. It's uploaded on imgur with a CC0 licence.
nostr:npub1qfvhyjq26gxn6eyzdquhaaj06fzvdtxtqfv9hhtpfrhpfq5a679q6r27pf I uploaded it to a different site and put the image I used (it was a wide shot I took on my way out) in a `street_level_imagery_used` changeset tag. I think that's probably enough...
I'd be glad to submit a PR to do this but I'd like to ask: how should this be represented? As an Article? As a Note with hidden content? How would the content be hidden? Should the extended content be federated at all?
Looking at the spec again, using the summary field might be plausible: the ActivityStreams Summary field (https://www.w3.org/TR/activitystreams-vocabulary/#dfn-summary) says it is to be interpreted as HTML... how does Mastodon treat this, or older versions of Calckey? How about Akkoma?
#[0] neat
I kinda want to see what shows up in nostr so this is a temporary test
