Possible. But people still can have access to both. Not sure that's the case of X or cash. Can you pay with cash if your country is cashless? Sure, but in very rare cases. Can you use X if it's not in the AppStore? You can, maybe. Bitcoin & Nostr gives you more options and probably will have more network effect if government try to ban it. Because they are way more accessible and independent from central authority.
Ban X - people will use Nostr.
Ban cash - people will use Bitcoin.

Two years ago nostr:npub1zu5tdnq7w63fgmsfz85te7e6zeg7y2lt8q8r9jp5zcg68jfy73jqraqtgz and Max were the first to put their trust in a semi-unknown Italian podcaster by giving him a speech at the Baltic Honeybadger 2022.
It was a somewhat polemical talk entitled ‘Lights and shades of bitcoin as legal tender in El Salvador’, the result of a long journey of exploration, 41 days in the country of Bukele without cash or credit cards, just bitcoin. The aim was to understand whether, far from Bitcoin Beach, in the most rural areas of the country, one could really survive using only Bitcoin.
A lot has happened since then. Many more trips spent reporting on adoption in emerging countries, many, many more prestigious international conferences. Until Honeybadger 2024, where I was honoured to be among the hosts on the main stage.
All this to say that I am beyond grateful.❤️

There's still a long way to go, but Bitcoin’s favorablr risk/return ratio will do the trick, and more money managers will start adding #BTC to their clients' portfolios. A 10% performance boost with just a 2% allocation to BTC will be hard to ignore!

Again, there’s still plenty of work to do—like educating them on how Bitcoiners actually think (low-time preference, full custodial transparency, etc.) and showing that peer-to-peer lending is the future, instead of adding unnecessary risks by tranching collateral.

Nostr is like Bitcoin Twitter in 2016.
Low noise, high signal.
Bitcoin events do feel stale a bit because it's just older than Nostr and there are more Bitcoin events during the year comparing to Nostr only events. So a lot of similar faces at Bitcoin events. In 7-10 years you will feel the same about Nostr events. It's just how tech cycles work.
